Like facism, formalism results in symbolic implosion. Still, aesthetic clarity or "legibility" make for enduring visual interest. The problem is: what is meaning?
I make art works which enact natural phenomena. I also make art works that mutely reflect our generic builtscape and attempt to bring mystery to the situation. If I am in a room, I want to hear it's breath. If the room is small, I want to sense distance there. If I am in a forest, I will listen closely to sounds which are far away. In this way I attempt to draw near the limits of perception.
